By car
If you are travelling by car, caravan or motorcycle, there are two ways to reach the island: by crossing the Hindenburgdamm with the DB Autozug Sylt Shuttle, or by taking the Sylt ferry from Havneby in Denmark. To board the Sylt Shuttle drive to Niebüll on the North Fresian mainland. The shuttle journey lasts 35 minutes, with regular departures every 60 to 90 minutes, in peak season every 30 minutes. Be sure to present your booking confirmation from the campsite. Return journey with car: €83 (Tue/Wed/Thu: €70). The SyltExpress RoRo Ferry operates between the Danish peninsula Rømø (connected to the Danish mainland by a toll-free road bridge) and the resort of List at the northern tip of Sylt. The ferry has space for 80 cars and 600 passengers. The crossing lasts 40 minutes. Onboard facilities include a welcoming restaurant and a Travel Value Shop. By train
There are direct rail connections from all over Germany to Westerland DB Intercity Station on Sylt. In addition, the Nord-Ostsee-Bahn departs regularly to the island from Hamburg-Altona (generally once per hour). For timetables and fares visit www.bahn.de
Arrival by Bus & Taxi
At Westerland Central Bus Station next to the railway station, you can board a No. 2 bus to Hörnum. Alight at Hörnum-Steintal bus stop right next to the campsite entrance. For greater comfort, or if travelling in a group, take a taxi or people-carrier from Westerland railway station.
By air to Westerland Airport (GWT)
