The Hörnum Musical and Theatre Summer Festival is now in its 4th year. Theatre Director Stephan Hoffstadt follows up his earlier musical successes (including Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island”) by bringing the hit revue “Hossa” to Hörnum in 2012. There are more classic comedy sketches from the pen of the great Loriot, and the family musical "Pippi in Taka-Tuka-Land" offers a fabulous opportunity to children and youngsters: to follow up a week-long musical workshop by appearing onstage with the professionals. The Hörnum Harbour Festival from 3rd - 5th August 2012 has everything you could want from a maritime weekend: North Sea voyages on the imposing Brigg Mercedes, Open Ship events, and the popular Shrimp Shelling Competition. The traditional bonfires and torchlit hikes are an increasingly popular feature of Hörnum’s entertainments diary: the Fresian Biike Bonfire on 21st February every year, the Easter Bonfire and Midsummer Night or Summer Solstice.

Add to all this mudflat hiking for children, archer’s bow-making seminars, and guided geological tours around the Hörnum Odde, and you really have something for everyone!
